Here you will find out about the club and its facilities as well as student training, hiring club aircraft, and useful information for visiting pilots.

Visitors are welcome on the airfield, the staff and pilots will be pleased to give information on the clubs activities and joining the club, but please report to the flight desk when you arrive.

About Us

Sherburn Aero Club is the largest flying club in the North, and one of largest in the country. With our own flying school, a large fleet of aircraft, and our low prices we make sure our members get the very best in affordable flying.

But that's not all.

Because we are a flying club, and not just a school, we cater for our members, and their families, after they become a fully qualified pilot. At Sherburn Aero Club we have an excellent cafe and bar, wireless Internet, a variety of self hire aeroplanes, and even our own local flying guidebook. We are determined to help our pilots to continue to fly, building on their experience and expanding their horizons.

Come on down.. the cost of flying has been reduced, Aircraft hire from £88.50 per hour wet! Avgas also reduced to just £1.78 per litre!

These reductions are for a limited time, though if the uptake is good we will consider extending the offer.

Winter Mondays

We will be open only on an unlicenced basis on Mondays until Spring returns. Fuel will be available for members and visitors but no training will take place. The cafe will be open between 10 and 2 for lunch etc.

Hangarage Space

For the first time in many years we now now some space available in our hangars.... This is unlikely to last for long so please get in touch with the hangarage director via the flightdesk as soon as possible...
