Home is the Halifax is a book written by Ian Robinson MBE
He was born in 1925 near Skipton, when war broke out he joined Handley Page in their repair depot in York. His interest lasted long after the war eventually being involved with the now Yorkshire Air Musuem. He said that such a musem is like a frame without a picture and the idea to rebuild a WWII Halifax was born.
A fuselage was found, used as a chicken coup on the Isle of Lewis and the long task to gather all the parts began. His book tells the story of the 13 years before Friday 13th was eventually rolled out on Friday 13th September 1996.
