The Pilots Retreat is the resturant & cafebar at Sherburn Aero Club.
For members and visitors alike, the Pilots Retreat is the social hub of the club.
All the food is home cooked, prepared from fresh ingredients, and cooked to order.
Andrea and her team always make 3 or 4 specials available every day from 0930 to 1700, along with a range of hot and cold sandwiches, all day breakfasts, and the inevitable bacon butties. Of course there are hot and cold drinks, even hot chocolate with cream on top to go with the cakes.
Comfortable and friendly
The Pilots Retreat has both a dining and lounge area. The dining area has table seating for individuals or can accomadate large groups.
The lounge area has deep sofas in groups around a low table. This relaxing and comfortable area is the ideal place to wait for friends or family, or to relax after flying.
The Pilots Retreat, like the rest of Sherburn Aero Club, has free WiFi access and there are plenty of power sockets for those needing to update the weather, file a flight plan, or access Notams.
Digby's Bar
Digby's Bar is stocked with John Smith's beer and a range of lagers on tap, as well as bottled beers, white & red wine, spirits and soft drinks.
Digby's is open from lunchtime onwards.
For evening events the Pilots Retreat is even equiped with a sprung wooden dance floor, a dinner dance or disco is a popular ending to a celebration evening.
Home Cooking
The range of food at the Pilots Retreat is huge. As well as breakfasts, lunches, and quick snacks for pilots and vistors, a full Sunday Roast is served every weekend. This can be booked in advance, like all meals, and is a great end to a day at the airfield. The daily "specials" are always popular and especially so the Steak Pie - people come to the club just for this.
Club events are also catered for by the team, whether it is serving the crowds on Vintage & Veterans day, a formal buffet to celebrate a club achievement, or something interesting and unusual for a social event. From BBQ to birthday party the most important thing is that the food looks great, tastes great and is great value for money.

Andrea and the team are extreemly experianced at catering for adults and children alike. We can arrange all aspects of your event, from catering to disco. We can even arrange a flight or airfield tour.
