The Flight Simulator Group meet in the clubhouse on the first Saturday of every month. All those interested are welcome. The only cost involved is £10 a year for social membership. This entitles you to use the club at anytime, not just flight simulator meeting days, feel and be part of the club!

The group has over 50 members with all types of simulators, from the basic laptop system to a full L29 Delphincockpit, though it's not about who has the best system. Everybody in the group are in it for the same reason, their love of flight and aeroplanes, Where better can you do both than at a real airfield!

One of our members Richard Maxted is not only a PPL at Sherburn but is a very good scenery designer and as made Sherburn airfield and a number of Sherburn aircraft, all free to members!

After a very successful Help for Heroes Charity Day Richard Maxted sent out this e-mail I am posting an exert from this e-mail in case it doesant reach everybody!

Over the summer we have been lucky to have a group of dedicated, persistent, and hard working volunteers.  I did not keep a good record of all for the day so I cannot address this email personally to each of you - as you will have no doubt gathered by now I am great with faces and rubbish with names.  So those of you who were the Apples, Bananas and Charlies know who you are and I am grateful to you. You did a great job yesterday and are a vital part of running a safe and smooth operation. To be able to rely on a core of folks who are involved because they want to be, are willing to just roll up their sleeves and get on with it, allows us to run many aspects of the event without having to worry.   Over the summer the flight simmer's have also formed the core "Vols" and yesterday was their chance to escape from parking duties back to the computers.  I do not know exactly how much you guys and gals raised yesterday but judging by the queues the simmers are going to be a pretty important element in the future success of the show - so a big thank you, not least for being my eyes and ears in hanger 3.

The next meeting will be on the 2nd October 2010 from 10am, more info can be found @ http://sherburnaeroclub.website.orange.co.uk/

If any real world pilots are renewing their charts and Pooley's flight guides would you be kind enough to donate them to the Flight Sim Group via John Crossland or the flightdesk!

Can I just take this opportunity to thank members who have already donated their old charts etc. They are already being put to good use by our sim members, recycling at it's best!!

Regards John Crossland
